Bus Dimensions and Practicalities of Driving on Site

Both buses are 8m long, 2.5m wide and 3m high. They are roughly the same size as a library bus or fire engine. Please note that overhanging trees can be a problem.

The ground surface should be even and firm- slopes, kerbs and cambers can cause scrapes underneath!

bus in a tight squeeze What we need to know from you

  • Can we access a normal 3 pin, 13 amp socket for the bus’ electrical supply? Our extension leads are 20 metres long. Through a window is fine, but please consider the tripping hazard that a trailing cable presents.
  • The timing of the school day/ your event
  • Will there be an adult assistant to accompany groups? (parent helpers are most welcome)
  • Will bus visitors be at risk when entering/leaving the bus (e.g. is there a busy road/ slippery surface)?

Passenger Access

  • Please arrange with the bus manager if you require any assistance
  • Both buses use step access with handrails
  • The original bus can offer a hydraulic wheelchair lift for those users who are unable to use steps
