Why Recycle In School?

  • Recycling in schools is an excellent way to pass on the recycling message to young people
  • It can reduce your waste disposal costs
  • It diverts waste from landfill
  • Some recycling will help to raise funds

DIY Schools Recycling

As a County Council, we are not allowed to promote one individual company, but here are a selection for you to explore.

Most schools have their waste collected by their District Council. Please contact them first to see what recycling initiatives they offer.

Some hints and tips on recycling in school

  • Involve as many people as possible so that everybody will feel equally involved and responsible.
  • Allow representative pupils and staff from all over school to make suggestions on how it can be done.
  • Resist the temptation to invest money in expensive bins and equipment until you have established a successful system.
  • Celebrate your success!
